What We Offer for You
For the last 20 years, we have developed a range of services targeting all types of swimmers: high levels and beginners, women, children, tots, parents. We provide the best instructions in the world!
When You can Learn from the Best!
My program is designed to teach a child survival and self-rescue skills. I will teach them to swim with their face in the water and roll onto their back to float independently. Depending on their age and continued progress, I will then teach them to flip from an independent float to having their face in the water again so that they can propel themselves towards a wall or step to safety. This “swim-float-swim” sequence is the key to helping a child survive when they are in a body of water.

Meet Shannon
Greetings all. Thank you for visiting my site. My name is Shannon McPherson. I am the owner and operator of S & R Aquatics Swim School. I hold certifications with Survival Swim Development Network, Head Coach USA swimming, Red Cross Lifeguard, USA Triathlon coaching, ASCA 1 and ASCA 2 certifications. I have been teaching swim lessons and survival aquatics in the Katy and the Houston area for over 10 years. My passion is to make sure everyone becomes comfortable and safe in and around the water. I teach all ages starting at 6 months through adult water safety, stroke development, and coaching. During my down time I enjoy being at home with my family. We often cook, play games, swim and at times enjoy traveling. I am always looking for new adventures and getting to know more people in the community to spread this lifelong skill. Please reach out to me for more information so I can enrich your swimming experience.
What People are Saying About Us

Shannon is an amazing instructor. She is very hands on and patient. When making sure my child is using proper techniques, she is encouraging and congratulates him often. He feels accomplished and is showing awesome progress. His goal is to make the swim team and with her help, I have no doubt he will be ready!
Shannon taught our two year old survival swim lessons like turning over on his back and floating in the event of an emergency. While we had expectations of him learning these tools, we never anticipated how much more he would learn from Shannon.
